SuiteC provides bCourses users with additional tools to support student engagement and collaboration -- the Asset Library, the Engagement Index, Whiteboards, and the Impact Studio. The Asset Library allows students to upload and share multimedia learning objects, and the Whiteboard lets students collaboratively "remix" these assets to create connections between primary and secondary sources. The Engagement Index allows instructors to automatically score student participation in SuiteC and bCourses tools, and the Impact Studio provides students with visualizations to help them understand how their work is impacting the learning of their peers. SuiteC was developed by ETS in partnership with UC Berkeley faculty. Learn more about the SuiteC Development Project.
Note: If you are at an institution other than UC Berkeley and would like to learn more about implementing SuiteC, please visit the SuiteC Overview page.
The Asset Library is a place where students can share materials and inspiration and discuss and engage with other students’ contributions.
The Whiteboard offers users a digital, canvas-like space where uploaded media, text, graphics, and more can be combined into something new to enhance students’ understanding and interaction with course materials.
The Engagement Index provides insight into student participation and a leaderboard for tracking engagement.
The Impact Studio includes an Activity Network Diagram, illustrating connections fostered through student collaboration, and an Activity Timeline, depicting activities, and their impacts (e.g., responses from others) over time.
