ETS no longer provides 35mm slide projection equipment for loan and in general assignment classrooms. If you are planning on displaying 35mm slides, you do have a couple of options.
All of our technology classrooms have installed data/video projectors. Digital images may be displayed from your laptop using a classroom projector. You may wish to have your slides digitized in order to view them from your laptop. Here are a few service providers:
- Slide Scanning Pros scans and corrects slides for only 29¢ per photo
- TWO CAT Digital is a high-quality scanning operation based in San Leandro
- Looking Glass photo on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley has a digital printing and scanning service
The Office of Educational Development offers Instructional Improvement Grants for digitizing slides. More information on this program can be found on the Center for Teachng & Learning website.
If you choose to display 35mm slides and need equipment, ETS has a limited number of 35mm slide projectors, lenses and accessories available to transfer to you or your department on a first come first served basis. To request an equipment transfer, please email us.
