Between 7am and noon on Sunday, September 20, bCourses was unavailable for most users due to errors with the Amazon Web Services cloud hosting service. These issues were unrelated to the Friday/Saturday outage of campus systems; detailed information is available on the Canvas System Status page. Access to bCourses has now been fully restored. Please let us know (email@example.com) if you are still experiencing any bCourses issues.

bCourses is now back online, including most tools which were previously unavailable after the initial restoration of service (Create a Site, E-grades Export, Official Sections, Roster Photos, Find A Person To Add, bCourses Mailing Lists, Course Captures). If you notice these tools or any other bCourses features not working as expected, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

During the unscheduled outage of bCourses and other campus systems, students were unable access course materials, submit assignments, or complete any other activities on bCourses. VCUE Koshland and Senate Chair Hermalin are asking instructors to provide students with appropriate accommodations for possible missed assignments or other problems stemming from the outage. Please contact the bCourses team (email@example.com) if you have any questions on how to update your course to provide these accommodations.

Access to bCourses has been restored, however some bCourses tools may remain offline until further notice:
- Create a Site
- E-grades Export
- Official Sections
- Roster Photos
- Find A Person To Add
- Course Capture (Webcasts)

bCourses is currently offline due to an unscheduled campus network outage. Any system requiring CalNet authentication is also unavailable. IST is working quickly to assess the impact of this event and restore services. Please refer to the System Status(link is external) page for the latest updates.
