Service Alert: bCourses Tools Unavailability

January 18, 2017

Update -- 10am, January 23: The fix for these issues was fully deployed over the weekend, and users should no longer experience errors when using the tools listed in this announcement. ETS will continue monitoring for any new errors or issues.


Update -- 11am, January 20: Error rates for the tools listed in this announcement have declined significantly; however, work on the full fix remains underway, and will be complete this evening (Friday 1/20).


Update -- 4pm, January 18: The availability of the tools listed below has improved significantly. However, instructors may still experience errors when attempting to use them. A full fix for this issue is in development, and should be released within 24-36 hours.


Some Instructor tools in bCourses have been reported as intermittently unavailable including:

  • Create a Site
  • Official Sections
  • Roster Photos
  • Find A Person To Add

Instructors may experience errors when attempting to use these tools. If you encounter errors and require assistance with course site creation, section management, or adding users, please contact the bCourses Support Team: bcourseshelp@berkeley.edu

UC Berkeley is actively working with the vendor to resolve these issues. This announcement and the UCB System Status page (http://ucbsystems.org/) will be updated when full performance of these tools has been restored.
