[January 11, 2019, email communication from Vice Chancellor Cathy Koshland and Assistant Vice Chancellor Jenn Stringer]
We are delighted to inform you that, beginning today, students and faculty will benefit from the integration of Blackboard Ally software into bCourses – one of our Digital Learning Initiative efforts to make digital content more accessible and user-friendly for all UC Berkeley students.
Benefits for Students
Without instructor assistance, students can now convert bCourses files into a variety of formats and languages to meet their needs and learning preferences.
Benefits for Instructors
Instructors can now
- improve accessibility through Ally’s visual indicators, accessibility scores, and tips
- optimize digital course content compatibility with mobile devices, screen readers, and other assistive technologies using alternative formats.
Visit bCourses Ally for information, help, and to get started.
Schedule a 30-min. Consultation (Select “Accessibility & Ally” consultation).
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Thank you for your help to improve the student experience by building a more inclusive learning environment for all Berkeley students.
