The ETS managed drop-in computer facilities (computer labs) will be repurposed beginning this fall semester, in a move to align IT resources and meet changing needs of campus. Beginning with the start of the fall 2017 semester, the ETS drop-in computer facilities on the first floor of Moffitt Library and inside the Bioscience & Natural Resources Library (2180 VLSB) will be closed, and those two spaces will transition to new uses. The Moffitt space will become a new Instructional Computer Facility to meet the growing demand of courses/classes utilizing computer-based or assisted instruction. The Moffitt Makerspace, which is co-located with the computer lab on the first floor, will continue to be supported by ETS. The VLSB facility will transition into a space for the Library.
Campus members looking for computer access can continue to use the many other computer workstations available throughout Moffitt Library and Bioscience & Natural Resources Library. Those computers are equipped with standard productivity software and have printing capabilities.
Students seeking computer-related support are encouraged to contact Student Technology Services. This new resource hub is available to all students and provides Help Desk support including computer equipment check-out including Hardware Lending options.
