ETS is Here to Help
Below is a quick list of things to do and to know before classes start to help you through the next couple of weeks.
Find Help in the AIS
The Academic Innovation Studio (117 Dwinelle, Level D) is the place to get help with your syllabus and course design, bCourses, clickers, academic integrity, course reserves, streaming films and clips, and more. Schedule a consultation or check out our special semester-start office hours. Note: Dates and times for specific partner services vary, so please read carefully.
Schedule a Classroom Tech Orientation
Need help with using audio visual technology in a General Assignment Classroom? To receive an orientation or refresher, drop into the AIS (Dwinelle 117, Level D) any time between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, or schedule an appointment online. (Limited appointments availability August 23 through Sep 1)
Update Clicker Software
Instructors who have used the i>clicker system in the past should should check for a software update (see our KB article on updating). You’ll find new branding (the software you knew as “i>clicker” is now “iClicker Classic”), and a few minor changes, including a new checkbox you can select which may help with roster synching. Help Guides from iClicker as as well as ETS Help Documents will appear in the coming days. You can also request support: firstname.lastname@example.org
And don’t forget to put in your Clickers order at the bookstore to ensure there’s sufficient clickers stock for your students.
Check out NEW Canvas Teacher App!
In late July, Canvas released a mobile app specifically designed for instructors, allowing them to manage their courses and use Canvas/bCourses more efficiently from a mobile device. Note: External tools that are integrated with your course site (including those created specifically for UC Berkeley: Create a Site, Roster Photos, Find a Person to Add, Mailing List, Official Sections, and E-Grade Export) will not work in this app.
