As the end of the Spring semester approaches (and as some of you begin to plan for next Fall) we want you to be aware of the following:
Clickers Faculty User Group to meet Friday 5/4 at 10am; all are welcome!
Begun in the Fall of 2015, this user group meets once every semester to share strategies and techniques for teaching with Clickers. The upcoming meeting will also include some time devoted to discussing a pilot that was conducted with iClicker Cloud (a cloud-based system not currently supported by ETS.) All instructors using Clickers (or thinking about using them in the future) are welcome to attend. The Spring meeting of this group will be Friday, May 4th, from 10 to 11:30, Academic Innovation Studio, 117 Dwinelle Hall.
iClicker Classic will continue to be the campus-supported classroom response system
We have decided to not endorse or provide support for a cloud-based system in the coming semester. During the spring pilot, it became clear that wifi in some classrooms is not robust enough to support widespread adoption. We will continue to stay on top of changes in vendor products as well as the status of campus infrastructure.
iClicker Classic v 7.18 is the latest version of the software
ETS recommends updating; if you’re running version 7.4.5 or later this takes less than a minute using the “Check for Update” in your Help menu. While 7.18 is an optional update, it does fix a couple of bugs that have impacted small numbers of UCB instructors: it now correctly alphabetizes names in the iClicker Gradebook and it no longer loses session data in rare cases where an instructor resumes an iClicker session. (Additional fixes are listed in the release notes.)

ETS provides instructor support for Clickers out of the Academic Innovation Studio, 117 Dwinelle Hall. Basic drop-in support is available from 9-5 on weekdays.
