May 26, 2021

Thanks to generous support from campus and departmental leadership, ETS has received funding to accelerate our classroom refresh, add video cameras, and add video conferencing capabilities to 37 classrooms this summer. For more information about the new capabilities, please check out our Instructors Getting Started page and stay tuned for new video and documentation on how to use these capabilities when you return to our classrooms.

In major classroom refresh and renovation news, RTL’s Educational Technology Services (ETS) has completely revamped and upgraded the AV infrastructure in both Cory Hall 277 and Hearst Field Annex A1, implementing high definition technology in each room.

We at ETS have been working this past semester to provide you with various support options for your online classes, and we are excited to introduce a new one!  

In response to the abrupt shift to remote teaching and learning, RTL was pleased to provide instructors with various equipment to enable higher quality audio and video for virtual classes during the Fall 20 semester.  Due to the success and widespread use of this program, we are able to continue this program to provide instructors with equipment for the Spring 21 semester.

Over Summer 2018, the ETS classroom team worked in coordination with the Office of Registrar to install or update the technology in 10 large (50+ seat) General Assignment classrooms (GAC) on campus. The bulk of the work was completed by the end of June and during evening hours in order to have the least impact on Summer classes.

Early in fall 2016, the Office of the Registrar implemented a new classroom information and management tool, called  25Live , ETS is pleased to be a partner in deploying this new tool. 25Live, part of the larger Student Information Systems Project, provides campus with a new one-stop resource for classroom details and scheduling functions.
