The fee for Video with Operator Course Capture has been reduced from $2000 to $1000 for the Fall 2021 semester. This fee only applies to auditoriums in Wheeler Aud, Pimental, 2050 VLSB, and 245 Li Ka Shing. This is not to be confused with the new feature Video without Operator service that has been added to other existing classrooms. The new Course Capture Video with Operator service remains free to use.

Course Capture is currently unable to post new recordings.

Course Capture has not been able to post new recordings since Monday, 1/27, 10 am. We’re investigating the cause and will provide an update as soon as possible.
Recordings are not lost and will be posted when the issue is resolved. Previously published recordings are still available.

October 2, 2019

[Update 10/3 4pm] The issue is resolved. Recordings are now being shared but it may take another two hours before all recordings are processed.

ETS is here to help!

Many exciting changes occurred over the summer including the beginning of the Wheeler Renewal Project, a new classrooms resources system, and the introduction of SuiteC to bCourses. Start your semester off right, and get the information you need before classes start.

August 3, 2016

Beginning with the fall 2016 semester, courses utilizing ETS’s Course Capture service to record and publish their classes  will benefit from an enhanced security feature which will limit content access to users with a CalNet identity. Thanks to the extension of our Berkeley domain identities (CalNet login) to the YouTube interface, we can now limit access to course videos to those users logged in with their Berkeley ID. These security enhancements are being added to help address privacy and security requests across the campus community.

As the world’s number one public university, it’s in our DNA to use our combined talents and skills for the good of others. Thus, when a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant was announced to support an “Impact Studio” to study how young people develop data literacy by teaching them how to measure their digital footprint, a...

Berkeley AV/Video Regents Meeting with Live Captioning Support

March 10, 2017

For the students, staff, faculty, and administrators of the University of California (UC), the six Regents meetings that take place throughout the year are crucially important. With 10 campuses across California, technology plays a key role in making these meetings accessible to as many of the UC’s stakeholders as possible. Live-streaming and posting the Regents deliberations to the web means the events can be accessed in dorm rooms and offices across our Golden State and anyone with a phone screen or a laptop can stay up-to-date with the high-level decisions affecting them....

Printing the Future on the First Floor of Moffitt

March 6, 2017

Moffit Library is a hub of campus energy and ideas, and if the newly renovated upstairs feels like a tech start-up, the new basement feels like Steve Jobs’ garage in the 21st century with the introduction of a student makerspace. As a free-to-use, collaborative, and community-operated space, it serves anyone on the Berkeley campus interested in the cutting-edge technology of 3D printing and fabrication. The project was made possible by the combined support of ETS, Student Affairs IT, and the Student...
